Overall Purpose of Job:

Ensure timely filings of all periodic filings for VAT, EC Sales List for the jurisdictions that fall into the role’s responsibility.

Main tasks, roles and responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage VAT reporting requirements, including timely and accurate preparation and submission of VAT returns and other compliance documents in the jurisdictions that fall into the role’s responsibility
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for the connected VAT GL accounts
  • Initiate and prepare regular VAT and other VAT related tax payments for manager approval
  • Add value to the VAT team by making recommendations on how to improve current processes and create efficiencies
  • Add value to the VAT team by collaborating with other departments in the organisation to refine current processes and drive further efficiencies
  • Assist the resolution of VAT related issues in connection with Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Support internal/external VAT audits as they occur in the European countries
  • Keep up to date with regulations in the area of VAT and ESL and ensure SAP is at all times up to date with VAT rates and other regulatory and compliance aspects
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with other Finance Functions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, procurement and supply chain) to provide VAT guidance for day-to-day operations

Qualifikationen

Experience and Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related field. Professional qualifications are a strong advantage.

Professional Experience:

  • At least 1–2 years of hands-on experience in VAT preparation and reconciliation, ideally within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Technical & IT Skills:

  • Solid analytical abilities, with a proven record of identifying, addressing, and resolving complex issues.
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with VAT-specific software as well as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage workloads effectively, even as priorities shift.

Languages:

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
